3 Guy and a Housemaid by P. G. Wodehouse

” 3 Guy and a Housemaid” in the U.S.A and “The Woman on the Boat” in the UK, is a normal P.G. Wodehouse romantic funny, including, at different times: a dreadful skill mission, a legal representative with a revolver, a bulldog with a mind of his own and a match of armour!

The housemaid, or marriageable girl, is red-haired, dog-loving Wilhelmina “Billie” Bennet. The 3 males are Bream Mortimer, a veteran good friend and admirer of Billie, Eustace Hignett, a poet of delicate personality who is engaged to Billie at the opening of the tale, and Sam Marlowe, Eustace’s would-be-dashing cousin, who succumbs to Billie at very first sight. All 4 discover themselves on an ocean liner movinged towards England together, together with an elephant-gun-wielding girl called Jane Hubbard who is smitten with Eustace the poet. Usually Wodehousian romantic shenanigans take place.
